Freedom Games is a game publishing company co-founded and staffed by industry veterans. We are looking to grow our team and are looking for talented and enthusiastic individuals who are excited about joining a startup environment.
As the Director of Marketing for Freedom Games you will be primarily responsible for setting goals and strategy for the marketing team including the activations we invest in. We believe that developing engaging strategies around our games is essential to their success, and this role would be focused on creating and supporting a robust marketing program that Freedom Games can leverage to make our games and developer studios as successful as possible.
Reporting to the COO, your primary objective will be to manage the marketing department to provide appropriate support for the games we publish, in a manner that creates tangible positive outcomes for the developers and our business. This includes third party marketing partnerships, events, press releases, influencer and editorial campaigns, and anything else related to sharing our mission, vision, and amazing indie games with the world.

Key Responsibilities
Establish set level goals and strategy for marketing efforts on a large portfolio of released and unreleased games
Identify new ways of attracting new customers
Leverage analytics to identify and key performance indicators for both the department and the business as a whole
Develop and manage to a budget, making financially sound decisions based on potential revenue generating opportunities
Manage and grow marketing and creatives teams to support business growth
Investigate Paid Social as a means to attract potential customers
Work cross-departmentally with Technology, Business, and Finance to make operational decisions
Develop sound processes and procedures to provide exceptional support to developer partners
Create best practices for supporting a large portfolio at scale
Work with external third party marketing partners to create reliable long term relationships
You have
3-5+ years of experience in the video game industry or similar role
At least 3+ year of experience as a people manager
Strong familiarity with the most popular platforms for gaming communities (Steam Forums, Discord, etc.)
A passion for a wide range of indie game genres and styles
A strong passion for running and managing a portfolio of products and ensuring they succeed
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously
PR Experience
Bonus points if:
5+ years of experience in the video game industry
Have helped shipped multiple indie titles on any platform(s)
Experience with working with multiple game launches at one time
You have a network of contacts within the gaming industry
Experience with productivity tools (Wrike)
Experience leveraging AI tools
